Application

Melt Wander Wax in a wax heater at 73 degrees Celsius. Ensure the drivetrain and chain are fully degreased and dry. Submerge the chain in the wax for at least 15 minutes, slowly remove the chain from the wax and let it cool completely. Break each chainlink so it can move freely. Use a clean, dry microfibre cloth to remove excess wax from the chain. Remount the chain on the bike, and you are ready to ride.

During the first ride the wax needs some time to run in, a short 10 minute warm-up is plenty. After this any excess wax will be pushed out of the chain and can leave flakes on the chainstay and drivetrain. These flakes will fall off while riding or can be removed with a clean and dry microfibre cloth. For cleaning between wax applications, run the chain through a clean, dry cloth. Use a clean and dry brush to remove wax residue from other drivetrain parts.

Reapply the wax when the chain sounds ‘dry’, by repeating the steps in the application above. The waxed chain can be wiped clean and directly inserted into the liquid wax without further degreasing.

After 10-15 reapplications, the wax should be replaced to prevent contaminants from impacting drivetrain efficiency and wear.

Can I mix Hyper and Wander Wax?
Yes, when melting the hot waxes, you can combine Hyper and Wander Wax to form a blend that is optimal for your intend use.
What is the difference between Hyper and Wander Wax?
Hyper hot wax is engineered with one goal: to go as fast as possible. This means the wax is slightly softer than Wander Wax, resulting in extremely low friction. It can however attract a little more dirt than Wander Wax, which is why Hyper is best suited to rides where speed is the only goal and every second counts. For rides where endurance is more important en dirt adhesion needs to be minimal, Wander Wax is your best option. It is a little harder than Hyper, and therefore attracts less dirt and will last longer on a single application interval.
Can I combine hot wax with Dynamic drip waxes?
Yes, you can use Dynamic Speed Potion Wax and Slick Wax if you need to reapply wax quickly between two hot wax sessions. Of course, we do recommend reapplying hot wax when you can, as it is the best method to achieve maximum performance from Hyper and Wander Wax.
Why are Hyper and Wander Wax priced higher than other paraffin waxes?
Hyper and Wander Wax use a unique wax blend that not only results in extremely high performance but also in a fully biodegradable formula. Regular paraffin, with or without additives, is a low cost alternative to the wax blend we use, but is a petrochemical byproduct that is not biodegradable. It is also less efficient at sustained high-power outputs as the lubricating layer van 'break away' from the chain resulting in metal-on-metal friction.

How many grams of wax do you use per waxing session?
You use approximately 4 grams for a chain with 120 links.

Nie wieder schmutzige Hände!

Die Kette läuft sauber und leiser. Meine erste Erfahrung mit Heißwachs und ich bin wirklich beeindruckt. Will nicht zurück zum gewöhnlichen Öl.
Perfekt für mein Zeitrad(Rennrad)!

Super wachs

Bin sehr zufrieden mit der 🚲Laufleistung, habe heute die Kette nach 450 km wieder im Wachs 🛀gebadet. Zusätzlich habe ich mir noch einen Wachskocher zum Enthaaren gekauft, der wesentlich einfacher zu bedienen ist wie die alte gute Herdplatte ohne Thermometer und die Dinger sind spottbillig.

Das erste Mal heißes Wachs

Also ich vor 2 Jahre von Öl auf Slick Wax umgestiegen, war das schon ein richtiger Gamechanger für mich. Das Produkt setzt noch einen drauf. Das Wachs lässt verteilt sich super gleichmäßig und die Kette ist lange Zeit über richtig smooth.

Funktioniert auch im alten Kochtopf der Oma. 👍

When I switched from oil to Slick Wax two years ago it was already a real game-changer for me. This product takes it to the next level. The wax spreads super evenly, and the chain stays really smooth for a long time.

It even works in grandma's old cooking pot.

Leise und langlebig

Ich habe schon einige andere Hersteller ausprobiert und kam selten auf mehr als 300-350km bevor die Kette neu gewachst werden musste. Ich orientiere mich hier meist an der Lautstärke der Kette, bei dem Wander Wax konnte ich ca. 500 km fahren, bevor die Kette angefangen hat mit rasseln.
Das erspart natürlich etwas von der nervigen Arbeit neben dem Rad, allerdings kommt die längere Reichweite nicht umsonst. Die Kette fühlt sich beim auflegen und drehen im Montageständer etwas träger an und läuft nicht so leicht wie eine Kette mit High-Performance Kettenwachs.

Man muss sich also entscheiden ob man weniger Arbeit am Rad (Kettenpflege) oder weniger Arbeit auf dem Rad (häufigeres wachsen mit High-Performance Wachs) haben möchte. Für mich persönlich wird das Wander Wax die Lösung für den Herbst/Winter.

ENG: 'Quiet and long-lasting

I've tried several other brands and rarely managed more than 300-350 km before needing to re-wax the chain. I usually gauge this by the noise of the chain; with the Wander Wax, I could ride about 500 km before the chain started rattling.

This certainly saves some of the annoying work beside the bike, but the longer mileage comes at a cost. The chain feels a bit sluggish when placed and spun in the stand and doesn't run as smoothly as a chain treated with high-performance wax.

So, you have to choose between less work on the bike (chain maintenance) or less work while riding (more frequent waxing with high-performance wax). For me, the Wander Wax will be the solution for autumn/winter.'
