In addition to the right cleaning products, you can make cleaning your road bike, mountain bike or gravel bike easier by using the right tools. Dynamic has a wide range of brushes and other cleaning tools. We are happy to explain these in our bike washing guide.

What do I need to clean my bike?

In addition to the cleaners, degreasers and water, you need the right brushes and tools. You can remove the stubborn dirt from your frame with a brush, sponge or bike washing glove. A specific brush for the drivetrain is recommended to use in combination with a chain cleaner, such as Drivetrain Detox, to get your chain spotless again.

After washing your bike, it is recommended to dry it with a cloth. This can be a towel, but also a microfibre cloth. Dynamic has a wide range of brushes and other tools to use with every cleaning session.

Soft Washing Brush

The Soft washing brush is a large soft brush. You can use this brush after you let Dirt Destroy or Bio Filth Fighter soak in to loosen the stubborn dirt. You can also use this brush in combination with a bucket with foam. The Soft washing brush is suitable for the frame, but can also be used for cleaning other large components such as your wheels, handlebars and crankset.

Use this brush for: frame, wheels and parts.

Two Prong brush

Two Prong Brush

The Two prong brush has a flexible double brush head that makes it easy to clean narrow and hard-to-reach places. You can use this brush in combination with a bucket of foam to clean the fork, set stays and chain stays.

You can also use the Two prong brush in combination with Drivetrain Detox to clean the outside of the chain. Make sure that you clean the brush before you use it on other parts to prevent residues of chain oil from getting on your frame.

Use this brush for: fork, set stays, chain stays and the outside of the chain.

Claw brush

Claw Brush

The Claw brush is a multifunctional brush for cleaning the entire drivetrain. You can use this brush for the chain, cassette, derailleur and pulley wheels. Use the Claw brush in combination with a chain cleaner such as Drivetrain Detox.

You can apply Drivetrain Detox or Chain Cleaner High Pressure directly on the chain and then remove the dirt with the Claw brush. You can also fill a cut-open water bottle with the chain cleaner and apply the cleaner to the drivetrain with the brush.

The 4 different brushes:

  1. Plastic claw: remove mud and dirt from the cassette. The hook can be used to remove dirt from the pulley wheels.
  2. Short-haired brush: cleaning the chain
  3. Long-haired brush: clean hard-to-reach places such as the cassette and chain links.
  4. Application brush: use this to apply the chain cleaner.

Use this brush for: entire drivetrain (chain, cassette, derailleur, and pulley wheels).

Detailing brush

Drivetrain Detailing Brush

Just like the Claw brush, the Drivetrain detailing brush is designed for cleaning the entire drivetrain. This brush has a small brush head which allows you to easily clean the chain, cassette and chainrings. You use the Drivetrain Detailing brush in combination with a chain cleaner like Drivetrain Detox.

You can apply Drivetrain Detox or Chain Cleaner High Pressure on the chain and then remove the dirt with the brush. You can also fill a cut-open water bottle with the chain cleaner and apply the cleaner to the drivetrain with the brush.

Use this brush for: entire drivetrain (chain, cassette, derailleur, and pulley wheels).

Bike cleaning glove

Other tools you can use to clean your bike

In addition to using brushes, you can also use a sponge or bike washing glove to clean your frame. For cleaning your chain, Dynamic has a chain cleaning tool.

We’re happy to provide an explanation for these tools.

Cleaning glove

Sponge

The sponge is a popular cleaning tool for everyone who likes to wash their bike with a bucket of water and cleaner. Our sponges are also used often by the pro mechanics. The large sponge makes it possible to quickly wash the entire bike. With the rough side you can also immediately clean the drivetrain.

Use this tool for: frame, components, wheels and drivetrain

Cleaning glove

Bike cleaning glove

The bike washing glove is also a tool that is often used in combination with a bucket filled with water and a bit of Bio Filth Fighter. The advantage of the bike cleaning glove is that you can easily reach all places of your frame. The long fibers of the glove absorb the water, allowing you to soak off the dirt.

Use this tool for: frame, components and wheels.

Chain cleaning tool

Chain cleaning tool

In our Chain Care boxes you’ll find a chain cleaner tool. You place this tool around the chain after you have filled it up to the mark with Chain Cleaner or Drivetrain Detox. Then, when you spin the pedals backwards, the brushes in the tool automatically clean your chain and between the chain links.

Use this tool for: chain.

Microfibre cloth

Microfibre cloths

After washing your bike, it is important to dry the drivetrain and your frame to prevent corrosion. You can use the Dynamic microfibre cloths or a towel for this. The black microfibre cloth in particular is useful for drying your chain and cassette. This cloth is also suitable for cleaning your brake discs.

If you want to give your frame a protective finish after washing, it is important to use a soft, clean cloth. You can polish the spray with the Luxury Polishing cloth.
